I absolutely love the new Emporium. It is so pretty, easy to access and quite the foodie destination for a shopping centre. I head in there quite a few times a week, and you know me, I’m always hungry. So I have tried a few of the food outlets there. My most recent- Supercharger.

I must say, the ordering process at Supercharger is a bit strange. It was intimidating at first. I think if they made it a bit more approachable/user friendly, they would get more business.

However, I just asked a friendly staff member and they helped me out. In the end, the menu is easy to understand- it just looks scary.

There are two menus. One is a “complete meals ready 2 go” and another is kind of a choose your own adventure sorta deal. You choose how many items you want…then you choose the items by ticking the boxes. That is the menu that through me off a little.

Strange at first but once explained, – SUPER easy. (ha, see what I did there?)

I chose from the ready to go menu. Alice chose from the make your own menu.

The min you can spend on a meal seems to be $12.80 which may sound expensive at first – but once you see how much food you get…

So, with my order (I ordered “Lightness” – $13.50), I got a massive bowl filled with

– a “super base” Mashed butternut pumpkin with black sesame seeds & fresh baby spinach leaves.

– a “super smash” Green peas with avocado, lime, coconut oil and mint.

– a “super raw” Shredded beetroot, carrot, radish and ginger with Bragg’s apple cider vinegar

– a “super ferment” Red cabbage and caraway kraut

– a “super sauce” Tahini sauce made with coconut water

Plus you get two smaller side bowls with

– “super proteins” Braised assorted mushrooms in ginger broth

and  a “super simmer” Chickpea Chole in cinnamon curry.

There was really…too much food. Alice and I could have shared my order alone! However, it was super delicious and felt healthy. A vitamin boost is sometimes just what you need.  Check out how much food our orders came out to-

My favorite was the entire giant bowl. IT WAS SO GOOD. Pumpkin and peas and avocado work so perfectly together. Then you have the crunchy texture of the fermented stuff- the cabbage and kraut. I loved it. The chickpea curry came second. It was perfectly flavoured. I was too full to enjoy the mushrooms sadly but they do give you take away containers if you need.

I would love to order from Supercharger again. Their set menu has great options – Immunity, Endurance and Strength. Next time I am totally getting Immunity – more mashed pumpkin, a french lentil salad, kale..eggplant….it sounds exactly like my sort of thing.

So to end – I’m not even Vegan (as you may have noticed if you follow this blog, ha) but I thought it was a great meal. I highly recommend Supercharger!

OMG this is amazing!! I’ve never heard of this place – those serving sizes are insane! it’s amazing how good veggies and “healthy food” can taste when they’re done properly – can’t wait to give this a try!
